NRL Round 8 2020
It has been a tough build up for the Storm who now find themselves in camp up in Brisbane with the worsening COVID situation in their home stat of Victoria.
It will be fascinating to see how that impacts the focus of Melbourne as they know that they will have to be at their very best for this glamour tie against the Roosters.
In what is a 4th vs 3rd match up, it will come down to which team have a player that stands up and grabs control and on current form, you have to think that will come from the Roosters, with the Storm been very up and down this season.
Prediction: Sydney Roosters by 8
The Raiders make their return to GIO Stadium in the Australian capital and they will be hoping that the comforts of home see a return to form.
Thankfully for home fans, they face a poor St George team that will likely not make life too difficult for the Raiders.
Prediction: Canberra Raiders by 10
Top of the table Parramatta take on the struggling North Queensland and whilst the Cowboys have the quality to defeat anybody on their day, the Eels play with so much confidence at their Bankwest home that they make is so difficult for the opposition to play to their strengths.
Prediction: Parramatta Eels by 10
These 2 struggling teams come into the game on the back of huge wins, so this could really be a make or break game for both.
The Sharkies have the better players and they also defeated an inform team last time out so we are going to back them for the win but with the inconsistant nature of both of these 2, it could be anybody’s game for the taking.
Prediction: Cronulla Sharks by 6
The under fire Broncos take on a struggling New Zealand Warriors in neutral territory in what should be a scrappy game as both teams are lacking in confidence.
The winner will be the team that has a player that stands up and takes control and also the team that limits errors and with little sign of either of those things from either set of players recently, we are going to toss the coin and back the Warriors.
Prediction: New Zealand Warriors by 4
The inform Panthers will be looking to keep the presure on the Eels at the top of the table in a Sydney derby that has a great chance of been the match of the round.
Both teams are full of confidence and playing free-flowing rugby but the Panthers have arguably the most inform players of the NRL in Nathan Cleary and they are finding it much easier at the moment to control mathces.
Prediction: Penrith Panthers by 8
Both Manly and Newcastle suffered shock defeats last time and both will be looking to kickstart their season in this one but with things so close between the 2 squads, the fact that this is Manly’s return to Lottoland could prove the difference in a game that will down to the wire.
Prediction: Manly Sea Eagles by 8
The struggling Doggies will be looking to pull off a shock win against an inconsistent South Sydney Rabbitohs but even if the Rabbits are having an off day, you still have to make them the favourites against bottom of the table Canterbury.
Prediction: South Sydney Rabbitohs by 8
