Since forming in 1987, the Broncos have gone from strength to strength and are now not only one of the most supported rugby clubs of either code but they are also one of the most successes.

Brisbane Broncos NRL
The Brisbane Broncos have been blessed with some of the sport’s greatest name playing for them with former Queensland and Australia captain Darren Lockyer often the first name that you think of.
Other notable former players include Steve Renouf, Wendell Sailor, Wally Lewis, Allan Langer, Petero Civoniceva and Tonie Carroll.

The Brisbane Broncos are located is the cosmopolitan city of Brisbane in the State of Queensland. The city is one of the largest in Australia and is also home to Queensland Maroon matches in State of Origin.
Stadium
No matter of you known it as Suncorp Stadium or as Lang Park, the home ground for the Broncos is one of the biggest and most impressive stadiums in world rugby.
The Broncos have one of the largest fanbases in the sport so despite holding over 50,000 fans, the ground is regularly full and that makes all of the matches at the ground a great spectacle.

Rivals
As you would expect from a club of the stature of the Broncos they have a number of rivalries with other NRL clubs. These can be split into 2 different types of rivalries: local rivals and other top teams.
As you would expect, the Broncos have a rivalry with the other Queensland clubs of the North Queensland Cowboys and the Gold Coast Titans whilst there battles over titles with the Sydney Roosters, Melbourne Storm and South Sydney Rabbitohs means that matches between them always have something extra about them.
There is also a minor rivalry with the Newcastle Knights, who also started life in the top flight in 1988 and that led to the clubs vying for players and challenging each other to be the top expansion team.

The clubs colours of maroon and gold are iconic in the world of rugby with the home kit normally mostly maroon and the away kit normally mostly gold.
History
First established in 1988 as the preferred bidder for an expansion place in the then New South Wales Rugby League Premiership, the Broncos have gone on to become one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the NRL.
The Broncos have won everything that there is to win in Australia including multiple Premiership (League / Grand Final wins) titles, a number of Minor Premierships (finishing top if the league) and they have also won the World Club Challenge on more than 1 occasion.
One aspect of the club that has continued from the very beginning to the present day is the sheer volume of players at the club who play for not just the Queensland maroons State of Origin side whilst been based at the club but also the number of players at Brisbane who play for the Australia Kangaroos national team. That is a great testament to the clubs junior ranks and the pathways they have to the first team.
During the Super League wars, the club made the move over to the newly formed competition and became its first and only title winners. Interestingly, on moving back to the now NRL, the team also won that competition.
For much of the clubs first couple of decades in existence, they knew only success and that helped to create one of the longest dynasties in the sport as the clubs first head coach, former England manager Wayne Bennett, stayed in the position for 20 years between 1988 and 2008.
He also returned in 2015 for a further 3 year stay at the top.
