Hull KR v Huddersfield Giants Preview
Hull Kingston Rovers take on the Huddersfield Giants as East Yorkshires takes on West Yorkshire in a game that both sides will be targeting for the win.
The trip across the M62 to East Hull is always a difficult one for all teams in the Super League. Not only do you have to deal with often tough conditions as wind comes off of the River Humber to the open southern end of the stadium but you also have to deal with a large and vocal crowd that show up week in week out in support of Rovers.
The Robins will be hoping to take advantage once of that support and inside knowledge of the conditions once more but one other problem that awaits the Giants and that is also an issue for the hosts is the inconsistency of Hull KR.
One week they can look like title contenders and the next they can look like wooden spoon favourites; just which Hull KR will show up this week?

History
As you would expect from 2 of the most historic and successful clubs in the sport who are both based in the heartland county of Yorkshire, the 2 have met in a number of big matches throughout the years.
Even back in the 1922-23 season, the 2 sides were at the top of the game as they met in the Rugby Football League Championship First Division final to decide upon the champions of England for that year where it was Rovers who grabbed the headlines and the glory as they ran out 15-5 victors.
Although both teams have spent much of the last couple of decades in the top flight, at the start of the Millennium, they both found themselves down in the 2nd tier.
It was in 2002 that the sides met in the final of the Championship Cup, when Huddersfield ran out comfortable 32 points to 6 winners with a dominant display.
At the county level, the 2 faced off in the final of the Yorkshire Cup in the 1911-12 season when Huddersfield grabbed a 22-10 victory at Belle Vue Stadium in Wakefield.
