Castleford Tigers v Warrington Wolves Preview
The Castleford Tigers welcome the Warrington Wolves in an exciting looking matchup between two sides full of great attacking flair.
The trip to the Jungle/ Wheldon Road is always a difficult one as the pitch at Castleford is one of the smallest in the league, the stadium and facilities is a huge step back in time for teams such as the Wire and perhaps most importantly the vocal home fans are right on top of you.
That is always a huge advantage for the hosts but from a neutral point of view, these matches always have the possibility of been simply a must watch game as both have lots of international standard quality including many players who have the capability to provide that special moment to win a match.

Stadium
No matter if you know it as the Jungle or Wheldon Road, it is fair to say that the Tigers home stadium is well past its prime and is one of the worst stadiums in the competition.
The ground is a huge ball and chain to the growth of the club but it is still a ground that can ride a good atmosphere especially when full and that will likely be the case when Warrington are in West Yorkshire.

History
As two of the stalwarts of the sport, it is perhaps surprising that these 2 haven’t played in many major final and big matches against each but there have been a few down the years that have stood out amongst all others.
Once such game came in the 2021 season, when Castleford made it through to the final of the Challenge Cup after defeating Warrington 35-20 in the semi-final. Interestingly that match was played with the backdrop of the then Cas manager Daryl Powell having already been named as the manager of Warrington for the next season.
A record breaking game happened in the 2017 season between the 2 sides when Greg Eden scored an incredible 5 tries in the game played on the 11th of June that year. That levelled the overall try scoring record for a Cas player and set the record for a Cas player in the Super League era.
