Toronto Wolfpack v St Helens Preview
The Toronto Wolfpack take on St Helens in a game that will give us a big insight into both clubs and how the season will go for both.
Toronto are a club in a tricky situation as they only have a small squad with no back up do to having no reserves or youth teams to call upon whilst Saints not only have one of the strongest starting line ups but they are so have some of the world’s best youngsters and they also have a strong reserve squad.
It is no surprise therefore that the Wolfpack are struggling whilst Saints are one of the favourites for the title but that is what adds some interest to this game.
If the Wolfpack can pick up a shock win it could be just the confidence and moral boost they need to kick start their season whilst if Saints are to pick up another League Leaders Shield once more, this is exactly the type of match that they should be winning.
Form
Saints have won 2 of their opening 3 Super League matches but they did lose a battle against the Roosters in the WCC last time out.
Team News
Toronto have been busy adding some depth to their squad with loan signings and a trialist added to their squads for this one. The Wigan loanee pair of Ben Kilner and Jack Wells go straight into their squad alongside Tony Gigot.
Saints welcome back Regan Grace but that is at the expense of Mark Percival who is out for shoulder surgery.
Stadium
The Wolfpack are still playing their ‘home’ matches over in the UK with this one taking place at the Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium. With the game been only a few miles form St Helens, the away side will have the biggest backing at the game which will lead to a strange atmosphere.
Toronto Wolfpack v St Helens Prediction
Here at RLBet, we give out predict for who we think will win and also what we think the winning margin will be but don’t forget that the unpredictable nature of the Super League, this should only be seen as our view.
Prediction
With a team chasing for top spot coming up against a team chasing a win it will be no surprise that we are going to back the team towards the top of the table for the win.
Saints have the better quality nearly across the park but Toronto do have enough in their squad to make things difficult and with some new recruits coming in, they should be much fresher this week.
