The State of Origin is the pinnacle of domestic Rugby League in Australia, with the matches been somewhere between the NRL and Test Match, with many fans and pundits seeing the games as the ideal showcase for players to put their names into the hat for Kangaroo duty.

The matches are played between represents from the states of New South Wales and Queensland, which are the states that the sport originated in in Australia- hence the title State of Origin.
