Warrington Wolves v Leigh Centurions Preview
The Warrington Wolves welcome the Leigh Centurions for a north west derby that will likely have a huge say on things at both ends of the table.
The big spending Wolves go into every season expecting success and expecting to be battling it out for titles and trophies come the end of the season.
If they are to reach that aim, these are exactly the type of matches that the hosts will not only be targeting for the win but also to win comfortably.
For Leigh, whose aim is to simply survive in the top flight for any Super League season they participate in, will head to the Wire knowing that in many ways they have nothing to lose and that should set thing sup to be an entertaining game.

History
Despite these 2 been amongst the most historic clubs in the country and been based relatively close to each other, there have actually been few important or historic matches to have taken place between the 2.
One match that did go down in the early history of both teams came in the 1900-01 season. Warrington had reached that seasons Challenge Cup final against Batley but just 2 days later they faced Leigh in the South West Lancashire Cup.
With the Warrington players still struggling from their match against Batley, the Leigh game finished 0-0 and Warrington had to forfeit the replay after not been able to raise a side.
Another famous match up between the 2 sides came in the 1961-62 season when the 2 sides met on East Monday in 1962. Whilst there was little on the line in the game, it would be the last appearance for Warrington by the iconic Brian Bevan.
