St Helens v Huddersfield Giants Preview
St Helens welcome the Huddersfield Giants over to Merseyside from West Yorkshire for a matchup between 2 talented teams that has the potential to be an exciting and close 80 minutes of action.
St Helens go into every match with the expectation of their fans that they should be winning it and that is especially true when playing at home.
The club known as the Entertainers’ also have the pressure to entertain and that is something that they do more often than not and that, when coupled with their excellent defence, makes them a tough opposition for any team.
The Giants are a team that have the quality to take on anybody but they haven’t always enjoyed their trips to Saints but after some years of struggle, they are starting to look like a team that can push on and challenge the top dogs once again.

Stadium
The Totally Wicked Stadium is home to the Saints and it is also one of the best stadiums in the Super League.
When full, the ground can create a fantastic atmosphere and whilst it won’t be packed to the rafters against Huddersfield, the quality on show will get the crowd going and that should help the atmosphere.
The stadium is one of the most modern in the UK and features a good mix of seating, standing and corporate facilities.

History
As two of the most historic clubs in the sport who have both enjoyed many periods of success, it is no surprise that they have met in a number of major matches and big finals.
Ne early occasion came in the 1931-32 season when they faced off in the final of the Rugby Football League Championship First Division final to determine who would be the champions of England.
On that occasion, it was Saints who ran out the winners by 9 points to 5.
Their rivalry goes back even further than that however as the 2 sides met in the final of the 1914-15 Challenge Cup where it was Huddersfield who dominated the match from start to finish to defeat St Helens by 37 points to 3.
The 2 also faced off in the final of the same competition in 2006 where Saints gained some revenge from that earlier thrashing by doing the same to the Giants in a 42-12 victory.
