Salford Red Devils v Leeds Rhinos Preview
The Salford Red Devils welcome the Leeds Rhinos across the M62 from West Yorkshire to Greater Manchester for this all-important Super League match up.
Not too long ago this match would have been a game that the Rhinos were expecting to win and expecting to win comfortably but both teams will know that they are likely to be in a battle heading into this one.
Both teams have quality players but struggle for consistency and that will likely be the reason they end in mid table this season.
One way, if not the best way, to keep yourself safe and to build momentum is to beat the teams in and around you are you not only add to your own confidence but you take away from your opponents.
Form
Salford lost last time out but by the narrowest of margins whilst the Rhinos turned around a bad start to the season with a thrashing of Hull KR last time out.

Stadium
The AJ Bell Stadium is a fine modern facility and offers a good mix of seating, standing and corporate facilities but there is something about the ground that hasn’t grabbed the attention of the Salford public.
On match days it an often be lacking in atmosphere and that can make it difficult for the players but with Leeds often taking a big following for them, the players should have no excuse in this one to give us a great game.

History
Both Salford and Leeds are amongst the oldest Rugby League clubs in the country and whist both have enjoyed success during that long history, they have actually played very few big finals and important matches against each other.
One of the biggest matches in both teams histories came in2020 when they met in the final of the Challenge Cup in what would prove to be one of the closest games in the history of the competition.
In the end it was Leeds who ran out the winners by 17 points to 16 to grab the glory and the headlines.
The 2 sides also met in the final of the League Cup, then known as the Player’s No6 Trophy, in the 1972-73 season when it was Leeds who ran out the winners by 12 points to 7 at Fartown Stadium in Huddersfield.
