Although Salford may not have had the level of success throughout their long history, they have still won nearly all that there is to win in the country and that is something that the Giants have been able to match.
Unfortunately, the 2 sides have often hit good runs of form at different times so there have been few big matches between the 2 sides despite some of the great action they continue to give us all.
One occasion they did meet in a big game was in the 1913-14 season, when they met in the Rugby Football League Championship final to determine the champions of England and on that occasion it was Salford who picked up the trophy and the glory in a narrow 5 points to 3 victory.
