Hull KR v Wigan Warriors Preview
The Red and White side of the city of Hull welcome the giants of the Wigan Warriors to East Hull for what is always a fantastic test and for what has good potential to be a great game.
Hull Kingston Rovers are one of the most unpredictable teams in the competition but on their day they have the potential to take on and defeat anybody on their day and whilst it will be a shock for them to pick up a win in this one, it certainly wouldn’t be a shock that nobody saw coming.
Whilst these 2 sides tend to have different goals as far as the season overall, with Hull KR simply expecting safety but hoping for a potential play-off push whilst the Warriors expect silverware, the points on offer are just as important to both sides.

Stadium
The Robin’s New Craven Park is host of this game and whilst it may not be a standout stadium and to be able to hold the same sort of attendances as the Warriors, it can match any ground for noise and for the great vocal support that the Robins fans give their side.
When Wigan are in town you can expect a good away following as well and that should set things up to give the players all that they need to produce a great game.

History
Although these are two of the most historic and successful clubs in the history of the sport in England, there have actually been only a handful of matches that have had a huge say on league championships and where the silverware goes in cup competitions.
One such occasion came in the 1985-86 season when the 2 sides met in the final of the League Cup, then known as the John Player Special Trophy, when it was Wigan who ran out 11-8 winners at Elland Road stadium in Leeds.
