Castleford Tigers v Leigh Centurions Preview
The Castleford Tigers welcome the Leigh Centurions from Greater Manchester to West Yorkshire for a matchup between 2 teams known for their attacking flair.
This is a game that has lots of potential to be an exciting one throughout and also one that will likely have a huge say on things at both ends of the table.
Cas are a club who know that if they can keep their players healthy, there is a chance that they could finish in the play-off place and a lot of that success or failure could come down to matches such as this one against Leigh with the home form of the Tigers often make or break for them.
For Leigh, who will likely be battling against the drop whenever they are in the top flight, to go to somewhere like Cas and come away with the points could be just the bonus points that they need in that battle.

Stadium
The Mend-a-Hose Jungle, also known simply as the Jungle or as Wheldon Road for older fans, is the home of the Tigers and the host for this one.
Whilst it is fair to say that the ground is well below par in terms of facilities it is still a ground that has the capability to give a great atmosphere when full and that should be all the players need to produce their best and to entertain us all.

History
Although these 2 sides have long and storied histories, they haven’t featured in as many huge matches as you would expect them to have faced off in, but that doesn’t mean that there haven’t been a number of memorable matches and moments to have happened between them.
One such occasion cam in the February 2017 Super League matchup between the 2 sides when a Luke Gale Castleford side ran out winners with a match winning performance by the England half back who scored a record equalling 24 points (2 tries and 8 goals).
The 2 side did meet in the final of the 1967-68 BBC2 Floodlit Trophy, which was the third edition of that tournament which up until that point had only seen Cas win the title, which is something they did once again for the third final when they battled past Leigh by 8 points to 5 in a match played at Headingley Stadium in Leeds.
That tournament proved to be a successful one for both sides as they also met in the final of the 1976 edition where it was Castleford once again who ran out the winners, this time by 12-4 in a match that was played at Hilton Park in Leigh.
