Hull FC v Leeds Rhinos Preview
Hull FC welcome the Leeds Rhinos from West to East for a Yorkshire Derby that always grabs the attention of fans and that more often than not delivers great action.
These are 2 of the biggest clubs in the sport and have the pressure of all of that entails. That means they go into every season with the expectation on them to deliver success and whilst both have struggle to do that recently, it does add to the occasion of this game.
If both the Black and White side of Hull and the Rhinos want to be in and around the title picture come the end of the season, these are the types of matches that they need to be winning to not only build confidence for themselves but to hit the confidence of their rival.
Thankfully both teams have lots of quality across the park and have all that they need to defeat the opposition which will likely keep this game in the balance throughout.
When you mix 2 evenly matched team, a big crowd and lots of pressure to perform and you have all that you need for a potential match of the season contender.

History
Both Hull and Leeds are not just giants of the sport in the heartland county of Yorkshire but they are giants of the sport nationally and even globally.
It will be no surprise then that there have been a number of matches that have been played between the 2 side sin major cup and league finals including the 1909-10 Challenge Cup Final.
The match went down in the history books as the first cup final to go to a replay when the sides drew 7-7 in the initial final before the 2 sides opened up in the replay when Leeds ran out 26-12 winners.
It didn’t take long for the 2 sides to meet once again the final of the cup when they battled it out over the 1922-23 cup in a game that Leeds dominated from start to finish to win 28-3.
The next cup final between the 2 didn’t come around until the 2005 season when the Black and Whites took on the then named Leeds Rhinos in what was one of the closest finishes in the competitions history as Hull ran out 25-24 winners.
