Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves

The Wigan Warriors take on the Warrington Wolves in a match that will have a huge say on the play-off race and the great news for fans is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.

Wigan start the round in 4th place where they are just 2 points behind the 2nd placed Warrington, but with the Dragons down in 7th just 2 points behind the hosts, it just highlights how important each and every game is for those battling for the top 5.

The result could be even more important for the Wolves as they have hit a tricky drop in form and with the Challenge Cup final soon upon us, they could do with the confidence boost from a win at the home of their rivals.

Form

Wigan have won 5 of their last 6 matches including each of their last 3.

Warrington have now lost 5 of their last 6 matches including each of their last 4.

Team News

Wigan are without Welsh international Ben Flower due to injury and whilst Joe Burgess is named, there is a big doubt over him.

Warrington will be glad to see Daryl Clark, Mike Cooper and Toby King all return from injury with the Cup Final next week. They are joined by Tom Lineham who returns from suspension.

Prediction

This is a hugely difficult match to predict as both teams have lot’s of quality and with some of the Wolves big stars still missing, the fact that they are higher placed in the league will count for little.

You also have the fact that it is the home side who come into the game with all of the form and confidence however it is the away side who come into the game with the motivation of putting in a strong performance to try and wrap up a place in the cup final side.

All of that makes this a hugely difficult match to predict and one that really is a toss of the coin. We do expect the game to be close throughout and it could easily come down to which team convert the more of their try’s but in a game we expect to be a battle, it is often the team with the most confidence and belief in themselves that come out on top, so we are going to pick the Warriors for the win.
