Wigan Warriors v Salford Red Devils
The Wigan Warriors take on the Salford Red Devils in the 2019 Super League play-offs and the great news not just for fans of these 2 North West rivals but for all rugby fans is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.
Although the Warriors started the season poorly and a few doubts were expressed, it is no real surprise to see Wigan in the end of the season play-offs, it is a huge surprise to see Salford in the play-offs.
After spending huge for the past few years and enjoying limited success, the Red Devils went into this season with one of the smallest budgets and on the back of losing big names.
To the joy of many neutrals and to the surprise of many, the Red Devils have shown great togetherness and have put in some of the best performances in the competition.
They have also developed a reputation for shock results so whilst many will make the Warriors a big favourite, that may just work against them.
Wigan ended the season in the best form in the competition including wins in each of their last 6 matches.
Salford matched that record but had to rely on a single point win over Hull KR n the final round.
Wigan welcome back Liam Marshall and Liam Farrell.
Salford make 3 changes with Gil Dudson, Mark Flanagan and Tyrone McCarthy all returning.
This is a hugely difficult match to predict as whist both teams will get a second chance next week, both sides will have to go into the game with the mindset that this is a must win game.
Both teams are in great form and in many ways, both teams have almost forgotten what it is like to lose so that sets this up to be a must watch game and it will also mean that the game should be in the balance throughout.
That will likely mean that it comes down to a battle between the influential half backs of George Williams and Jackson Hastings. With Hastings set to take over from Williams at the DW Stadium next season, he will be going all out to show his worth, so we are going to back Salford for the win but this really is a toss of the coin as to who will win.
