Wigan Warriors v Salford Red Devils
The Wigan Warriors welcome the Salford Red Devils once again the DW Stadium but this time the season is on the line for both teams as the winner will go onto the 2019 Super League Grand Final whilst for the loser, the season will be over.
With so much on the line we are all set for fantastic match and the great news for all rugby fans is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.
The 2 sides met just a couple of weeks ago in what was a great match in it’s own right but both sides went into that game knowing that there was a second chance.
With the knock out nature of this game we expect things to be stepped up even further and that makes this a potential match of the season candidate.
Whilst Salford did come up short 2 weeks ago, they will take lot’s of encouragement from that match and they will know that Jackson Hastings suffered with numerous problems in that game and if they can keep him free of issues, he is a potential match winner for them.
It will be fascinating to see how Wigan react not only to their first loss in a couple of months last time out in their derby at Saints but also how they react to the way that they lost that game, where Saints dominated from start to finish.
If Wigan dwell on that loss, Salford will know that there hosts are their for the taking but if Wigan use it as motivation, the Red Devils could be in for their biggest challenge for the season.
As you would expect from teams playing at this stage of the season, both sides are in great form with both losing just 1 of their last 6 outings.
Wigan make just the 1 change from their loss at Saints with Dan Sarginson replacing Joe Greenwood.
Salford also make 1 change with Josh Johnson replacing Ryan Lannon.
Just as their match a couple of weeks ago, this is a difficult match to predict and it is a game that will likely be in the balance throughout.
As a neutral it would be great for a smaller club such as Salford to make it through to the Grand Final and with many of their players leaving come the end of the season, this could be their last chance for some time but in a match such as this, experience often counts and that is where the Warriors have the edge.
It takes something other than form and quality to win games such as this because both teams bring that into the match. To win it takes unwavering belief that you can win and that is something that is in the DNA of Wigan as a club.
