Warrington Wolves vs Wigan Warriors
The Warrington Wolves take on the Wigan Warriors in a highly anticipated match from the 6th round of the 2019 Super League season and the great news for fans of both teams, and for Rugby fans in general is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.
These 2 giants of the European game are often battling it out towards the top of the table and matches between the 2 can often be important to who finishes higher in the table but in 2019, things are a bit different.
The Wolves are living up to their end of the bargain as they have suffered just the 1 loss all season but the Warriors have been a shadow of their usual self and still have just the 1 win in 2019.
The Warriors also come into the game on back of their worst performance for some years against Huddersfield and with question marks over Adrian Lam already, they really need to go to their North West neighbours and pick up a positive, if not surprise, win before they are dragged deep into the relegation scrap.
Warrington have played 5 and won 4 so far this season with their only loss coming in the south of France.
Wigan have played 5 and won just 1 match in the league so far this season and they also lost in the World Club Challenge.
The Wolves make just the 1 change for this one with Ben Currie, who is named in the Warrington squad after been a late call up last week, replacing Bryson Goodwin.
Perhaps part due tov that performance against Huddersfield but also down to injuries and suspensions, Wigan make 5 changes for this one with Joe Greenwood, Tom Davies, Ollie Partington, Jarrod Sammut and Jake Shorrocks replacing Liam Paisley, Dom Manfredi, Taulima Tautai, Sam Powell & Liam Marshall.
At full strength and with both teams in form this could have quite easily been one of the matches of the season but with a full house backing them and with the Warriors so depleted and out of form, we can only see a comfortable home win in this one.
The Warriors are lacking belief and quality and if they play anything like they did against Huddersfield, this will be all over by half time.
We do expect a reaction from Wigan but won’t be enough and the home side should be in control throughout.
