Toronto Wolfpack vs London Broncos
The Toronto Wolfpack take on the London Broncos at Lamport Stadium in Ontario in the 2018 Super League Qualifiers Play-Off match, also known as the ‘Million Pound Game’ and with a place in the Super League on the line for these 2 Championship sides, this is set to be a must watch and the great news for all Rugby fans is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Rugby League live streaming partners.
The Wolfpack have only known success since their formation after breezing through League 1, winning the Championship and then crowning off a fantastic Super 8’s campaign with a win away at the Leeds Rhinos so whilst a loss wouldn’t undo all of that, it would make for a disappointing end to a season that looked set to continue that unabated success.
The Toronto have spent heavily and have built a team of Super League and NRL experienced players so they will likely have the easier time of handling the huge pressure on both sides in this unique style of match.
The home side will also have the huge advantage of a big crowd behind them but the Broncos do have the advantage of already making the trip over the Atlantic twice this season and with a mostly youthful squad, they arguably go into this game with less expectation and that should allow them to play with more freedom.
The Wolfpack go into this game in good form on the back of 3 straight wins including a hugely impressive win at Leeds last time out.
At home they have won each of their last 3 matches.
London are also in good form with 3 wins from their last 4 matches but each of those wins came at home. On the road they have lost their last 2 but won 4 and drew the 5 matches before that.
The side shave met 3 times already this season with Toronto winning both games in Canada and London winning their 1 game at home.
Whilst Toronto have had the edge over London and over all Championship sides this season, those earlier results will go out of the window in this winner takes all play-off game.
Toronto have more experience and with home advantage, they will be wanting to take advantage of not only the large and loud crowd backing them but also of all of the travel London have had to do.
Whilst Toronto have come back from the UK for this one, they will still have had ‘home comforts’ in the run up to this one.
London have shown time and time again this season just how good they can be on their day but the Wolfpack have been the more consistent and that counts for a lot in games such as this and that is why we are going to back the home side for the win, but we really wouldn’t be shocked by an away win.
