St Helens v Halifax RLFC

St Helens take on Halifax RLFC at the University of Bolton Stadium in this Challenge Cup semi-final and the great news not only for fans of both teams but for rugby fans in general is that you can watch all of the action live on BCC 2.

St Helens have been the dominant force in the Super League this season and come into this game on the back of resting the majority of their team last time out in a losing effort against London.

Halifax on the other hand have had no such luxuries and with a place in the Championship play-offs still there goal, they are going all out on both fronts.

In any normal game, the runaway leaders Super League meeting a mid-table, semi-pro side form the Championship would be one sided from start to finish and whilst we do expect the extra fitness and quality of Saints to shine through, the fact that this is a Challenge Cup semi-final should see that Halifax give there all from start to finish.

Saints have lost just 1 of their last 6 outings and that was in the game they rested the majority of their squad last week.

Halifax have just the 1 win and 1 draw to show from their last 5 outings.

Team News

Saints are back to full strength after resting the majority of their team last time out with the likes of James Roby and winger Tommy Makinson named.

Halifax name Scott Murrell after an injury scare.

Whilst as a neutral we would love to see the fairytale story of a Halifax win, it is impossible to back anything other than a Saints win and whilst we expect Fax to be competitive in the first half, the extra quality and fitness of Saint swill shine through in the end.
