St George Illawarra Dragons vs Cronulla Sharks
The St George Illawarra Dragons take on the Cronulla Sharks in the 11th round of the 2019 NRL season and the great news for fans of both teams is that you can watch all of the action live online via our NRL live streaming partners.
St George made a great start to the season but there form has dropped alarmingly recently and they have plummeted down the table to where they come into this one in 12th place. The good news for home fans is that there is just a 2 point gap to the top 8, so if they turn things around and get back to winning ways, that drop in form will be forgotten, but they do face a huge challenge against their Sydney rivals, the Sharks.
Cronulla will also be wanting the pickup the points in hopes of cementing a place in the play-offs as whilst they start the round in 9th, they are level on points with Newcastle in 6th, such is the closeness of the NRL table.
St George have now lost each of their last 4 matches whilst Cronulla have won 3 of their last 5 but they did lose last time out to Manly.
The Dragons lack of form recently has led to a number of changes with Dufty and Ravalawa dropped into reserve. Lomax gets the fullback berth with Aitken at centre, Pearson on the wing and Sims pushing Kerr into reserve.
The Sharks are much more stable with the same 17 but they have added Matt Moylen into reserve as he looks to come back form injury.
This is a tough match to predict as the Dragons have certainly played the better rugby this season but they are far below their early season levels whilst the Sharks have been up and down all season long.
With that in mind, this one will likely be a scrappy affair but that should keep it close throughout.
With the axe falling on some of the Dragons big names, you have to expect a reaction from the players and so long as that is positive, they could have the edge, so we are going to back them for the win but this one really is a flip of the coin.
