St George Illawarra Dragons v Canberra Raiders
St George Illawarra Dragons head to Mudgee to take on the Canberra Raiders in round 11 of the 2018 NRL season and the great news for Rugby fans is that you can watch all of the action live online via our NRL live streaming partners.
The Dragons have made a fantastic start to the 2018 season and they are the team leading the table going into this round but with just a 2 point lead over the Panthers and Warriors, the chances are that they will need to win this game to stay there.
The Raiders need the points for totally different reasons as they have made a poor start to the season and for a team that backed as an outsiders for the title, they will be hugely disappointed to be down in 11th. They are now 4 points outside of the top 8, so if they fail to pick up the points in this one, they could find themselves cut adrift of even finishing in a play-off place.
St George have won 3 of their last 5 matches but as those are there only losses of the season, that is their worst run of form.
Canberra have also won 3 of their last 5 matches which is a big improvement on their early season form.
Blake Lawrie replaces Lomax in the only change for the Dragons.
Canberra make just the 1 change as well although they do name the same 17 with former Trinity star Sam Williams named in reserve and having an outside chance of breaking through to the starting line up.
This is one of the tougher matches to predict as on paper they have similar levels of squads named and whilst the Dragons are well ahead in the table their form is in decline whilst the Raiders are improving.
St George certainly have the more player sin form and they have the more creativity amongst their starting lien up so we are going to back them for the win as although we expect the game to be close, that Hunt/Widdop partnership should prove the difference.
