Salford Red Devils vs Wigan Warriors

The Salford Red Devils welcome the Wigan Warriors to the AJ Bell Stadium for this round 12 match up from the 2019 in a game that the Red Devils will be looking to build on one of the best performances in years whilst the Warriors are simply looking to move away from the foot of the table.

It is still surprisingly to see Wigan joint bottom at this stage of the season and whilst we are still expecting them to move up the table and away from danger, they have shown little sign of doing that and games are quickly running out.

For every bit Wigan have under-performing and unimpressed this season, the Red Devils have over-impressive and over-performed.

From been amongst the favourites to go down at the start of the season, Salford start the round in 7th place and just 2 points behind Wakefield in 5th but they have shown there best performances on the road this season and need to pick up a big win, such as against Wigan, at home.

Salford have won just 2 of their last 5 outings but those 2 wins have come in their last 2 matches.

Wigan have now lost each of their last 3 outings.

Team News

Salford are unsurprisingly unchanged after there huge win at Warrington.

Wigan are without Tom Davies after an awful ankle injury against Saints but they do name Jakes Shorrocks who also left the field in that one.

This is a difficult match to predict as it is impossible to know how both teams will react to their Good Friday matches and these 2 are also amongst the most inconsistent in the league.

With Wigan it tends to be during a game they are inconsistent with good spells followed by poor spells whilst for the Red Devils it is from match to match.

If Salford can play anywhere near the level they did against Warrington, Wigan are there for the taking and if Wigan feel sorry for themselves after Good Friday, Salford will certainly have enough, but we are expecting a reaction from the home side and that should lead to a close game.

In a match such as that you are looking for an inform player who can produce a moment of brilliance and it is Salford who have a player such as that in the form of Jackson Hastings so we are going to back Salford to pull off another shock win.
