Salford Red Devils vs London Broncos
The Salford Red Devils welcome the London Broncos to the AJ Bell Stadium for this round 2 matchup between 2 sides who shocked the competition in round 1 and who are now looking to keep momentum going.
With Salford’s off of the field issues and with London not having the resources of most teams and coming up from the Championship, these 2 were amongst the favourites for the drop and were expected to struggle throughout the season.
Whist we backed Salford for the win at Huddersfield, we were surprised by the size of the win and just how comfortable the Red Devils looked whilst nobody could have seen the size of the victory against Wakefield, even if you did back the Broncos to win that game.
Now that the pressure is off for the win, the new pressure is for both of these 2 teams to keep momentum going and to take 2 point s off a side that they will likely be battling it out with throughout the season to avoid the wooden spoon.
Salford Comfortably defeated Huddersfield away in the opening round whist the Broncos comfortably defeated Wakefield at home.
Both sides name unchanged squads for this one
This is a hugely difficult game to predict as both teams are relatively unknown commodities.
Both sides will be full of confidence after round 1 and whilst we expect the Broncos to be competitive throughout, the Red Devils have the extra quality and with things set to be close throughout that quality will likely prove the difference.
