Salford Red Devils vs Hull FC

The Salford Red Devils welcome Hull FC for this round 9 match up from the 2019 Rugby Super League season in a match that both teams have a point to prove and that both sides will be looking to gain some wiggle room in the battle to avoid relegation.

The Red Devils have impressed with their great attacking flair this season but they are still struggling to turn good performances into wins. They come into this game in a run of 3 straight losses but with the widest margin of loss in those matches been just 11 points, they have been there and there about in each of the losses.

Hull FC on the other hand have been able to pick up wins recently but they have also put in some shocking displays including a 12-63 loss at home to Warrington last time out.

Salford start the round in 7th place whilst Hull FC are in 5th but both teams are level on 8 points and just 2 points ahead of London who are 11th.

Salford have lost 4 of their last 5 including each of their last 3.

Hull FC have won 3 of their last 5 but just 1 of their last 2.

Team News

Salford make 2 changes to the side that lost at Wakey last time out with Tyrone McCarthy and Ben Nakubuwai replacing Daniel Murray and Adam Lawton.

The black and whites are still without 11 senior players and with the strange decision to send Hakim Miloudi out on loan, Connor Wynne could make his senior debut.

This is a hugely difficult match to predict as both teams are simply unpredictable. The home side have the quality to take on anybody on their day but they suffer badly with consistency, not just from game to game but also during the 80 minutes of a match.

Hull FC have similar issues and whilst that isn’t surprising as they are without so many key players, they need to find a way to win before it becomes to late.

Salford have the more creative players and in Jackson Hastings, they have the stand out players and in a game that we expect to be close, he will likely prove to be the difference.
