New Zealand Warriors vs St. George-Illawarra Dragons
The New Zealand Warriors take on the St George Illawarra Dragons in this round 9 match up from the 2019 NRL season at the first ever NRL Magic Weekend at the iconic Suncorp Stadium and the great news for all Rugby League fans is that you can watch all of the action from this match, and from ever game at the NRL Magic Weekend via our NRL live streaming partners.
The Warriors have been making news off of the field this week with the shock signing of former Broncos star Kodi Nikorima and the New Zealand international will be looking to take advantage of home field knowledge as he is set to debut at his former home ground for his new club.
That big money signing has come on the back of a poor start from the Warriors who have been lacking in attack without Shaun Johnson but if the move gets them back scoring, it will pay off big time as whilst the Warriors start the round down in 12th place they are only 4 points behind St George in 8th.
The Dragons made a great start to the season but there form has dropped off recently and they will be hoping that this round does turn out to be Magic and that they can kick start there season.
The Warriors have now lost each of their last 4 matches whilst the Dragons have lost their last 2.
As expected, Kodi Nikorima goes straight into the Warriors run on side so Chanel Harris-Tavita drops into reserve. Fusitu’a is named which drops Beale into reserve whilst Issac Luke also drops out to be replaced at hooker by Roache. Adam Blair is suspended with his place on the bench taken by Lawton.
Jai Field replaces Corey Norman in the only change for St George.
This is a tough game to predict as the Warriors have arguably the more talented squad but they are not living up to expected but the Dragons are over-performing at the moment.
The biggest issues for both sides heading into this one has to be in the halves and that is where this game will likely be won and lost.
For the Dragons, they are without one of their stars in Corey Norman through injury whilst the Warriors bring in Nikorima who will be going all out to impress not only on his debut but at his former home ground.
