The ‘Big Hit’ gets underway with a mouth-watering clash between 2 of Rugby League greatest teams as the New Zealand Kiwis take on the Lions of England live to millions of fans on the BBC and in front of a record breaking crowd at Wembley Stadium.
Matches between the 2 teams are always ones to saviour but in front of 70,000+ fans and with a place at the Rugby League World Cup on the cards for the winners this game should really be something special.
England and New Zealand both go into the match in good form with England only losing to Australia so far in this tournament whilst the Kiwis have remained undefeated although Samoa did give them quite a shock in the second half of their match.
England have a good record against the reigning world champions, especially on home soil. In fact England beat the Kiwis the last time the 2 met back in 2011 with an impressive 28-6 victory in the 4 Nations.
Both teams have improved since then and the Kiwis now play much better as a tam thanks in no small part to not been the ‘Benji’ show anymore.
With that said on the evidence shown so far you have to say that this game comes down to the work rate and team work of the England team up against the skill, power and pace of the New Zealanders star playing including Sunny Bill Williams.
England will need to utilise the pace and power of their wingers as they have done so well in the tournament so far as this is the main strength of the English and the main weakness of the Kiwis. This is the area where the game could be one and lost.
This game is a tough one to call, as it should be at this stage of the competition, but with a large following and with the whole nation expecting we think England will just have enough to get a win in what should be a hard fought battle.
Our Prediction: England by 8
