Melbourne Storm v Parramatta Eels

The Storm dominated the regular season, finishing 6 points clear at the top of the table and most impressively finishing with a +297. Melbourne were also the top scorers in the league and they finished with the lowest points against.

That just highlights how strong the Storm are and the challenge the Eels have in this opening round NRL play off qualifier.

On the plus side for the Eels is the fact that they finished as one of the form teams of the NRL and have shown in recent weeks that they don’t fear anybody.

The Storm ended the season with 7 straight wins and only lost 4 matches all season long. Interestingly their last loss came at home to the Eels when they lost 6-22 back in July.

The Eels lost just 1 of their last 10 matches of the season including wins in each of their last 5 matches on the road.

Team News

The welcome back Finucane at loose forward which moves Kenny Bromwich onto the bench. Tim Glasby is back as well on the bench with Rochow and Myles in reserve.

The Eels are unchanged.

Although we can easily see the Eels go to Melbourne and once again come away with the points, it is always difficult to back against the Storm and especially in 2017 when they have been so dominant.

The Eels have been winning games by using their strong attack to outscore teams whilst the Storm have not only been racking up the points but they are keeping teams out at the back and that is where we think this game will be won as the Storm defence will likely prove to strong for the Eels.

Our Prediction: Manly Sea Eagles by 8
