Leeds Rhinos vs Huddersfield Giants
The Leeds Rhinos welcome the Huddersfield Giants for this West Yorkshire derby that is set to have a massive say on things in both the relegation scrap and in the play-off picture.
Whilst it shouldn’t be too much of a shock to see the Rhinos struggling after finishing in the Qualifiers last year, it is still a shock to see them stuck to the foot of the table at this stage of the season and with the Easter Period often thought of as defining for all teams, they will be hoping to make a move, starting with this home game to their near neighbours the Huddersfield Giants.
Leeds start the round just 2 points from safety and just 4 points behind Huddersfield but such is the closeness of the table, the Giants could move into the paly-off picture with a back to back wins over Easter and of course they will need to start with a win at Headingley.
Leeds have won just 1 of their last 5 outings in the league but that did come in their last home game as they defeated the Tigers by a single point in Golden Point.
The Giants have now won 3 of their last 4 outings and they have won 2 of their last 3 on the road.
The Rhinos bring back Tom Briscoe, Konrad Hurrell and Brad Dwyer after they were rested for the Challenge Cup last time out but Trent Merrin is still out.
The Giants name Paul Clough for the first time this season but Lee Gaskell is injured.
This is a difficult match to predict as the Rhinos are just so unpredictable at the moment.
Both teams have looked good in attack recently but the Rhinos have continued to be both in defence and especially down the middle and that is where we feel that match will won and lost with the Giants defence guided them to a narrow win.
