Leeds Rhinos vs Castleford Tigers

The Leeds Rhinos take on the Castleford Tigers in this West Yorkshire derby from the 15th round of the 2019 Super League season and the great news for fans is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.

The Rhinos season went from bad to worse last weekend as they exited the Challenge Cup at the home of their rivals Bradford but if they can turn that into a positive and use it to focus on the league, their fans will be much more forgiving but at the moment they have a temporary coach, players who are on the way out and they are deep in a battle to avoid the drop.

In what should have been a celebration as they fully open the new north stand at Headingley, there will likely be a subdued atmosphere in the ground pre-kick off so it is up to the players to show heart and desire and get the home fans into the game but that will be tough against a Cas team looking to keep pace with the play-offs.

Cas have been hit hard by injuries and they too exited the cup but with more and more players coming back, the Tigers will surly show their true form soon.

Form

Leeds have won just 1 of their last 4 matches and 2 of their last 5 at home.

Castleford have lost each of their last 4 matches and each of their last 6 on the road.

Team News

Konrad Hurrell is missing for Leeds due to injury but they do welcome back Richie Myler, Brad Singleton and James Donaldson.

Greg Eden is back for Cas whilst both Paul McShane and Grant Millington remain in the squad after been late call ups last time out. Youngster Brad Jinks is also named.

Prediction

The Rhinos simply have to show a reaction to last weeks loss but they will have to improve across the park if they are to pick up the points.

Whilst the Tigers have been far from their best recently, having Paul McShane back and with more fitness will be a huge boost as he is often the key motivator for the team out on the field whilst Konrad Hurrell will be a big loss for Leeds as whilst his defence as been poor all season, he too gives his team a lift.

We do expect a close game however but in the end the extra quality in the Tigers squad will shine through.
