Hull FC vs Castleford Tigers
Hull FC take on the Castleford Tigers at the KCOM Stadium in round 2 of the 2019 Super League season and the great news for fans of both teams is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.
Hull FC will have been disappointed to have come away from East Hull without even a point after winning up until the last couple of seconds but in all reality they probably didn’t deserve anything out of the game as whilst they controlled large parts and opened a big early lead, they made far too many error and looked out of ideas in attack.
The Black and Whites will know that this will be a big step up in quality for them as they take on a Castleford Tigers side expected to be battling it out towards the top end of the table this season and who come into the game full of confidence after a comfortable opening round win at home to the Dragons.
Castleford looked decent in that game but in all honesty the Dragons offered little and with a big crowd expected at the KCOM, both sides will be looking to impress.
Hull FC opened the season with a loss at Hull KR whilst Castleford opened the season with a home win against Catalan’s.
Hull FC bring back Jake Connor, from suspension, and Joe Westerman from injury.
The Tigers also make 2 changes to their squad with Tuoyo Egodo and Jacques O’Neill replacing Mike McMeeken and Matt Cook.
This is a hugely difficult match to predict as not only are we still incredibly early in the season but these 2 sides are evenly matched on paper.
Both are missing key creative players but one big difference is that whilst Hull FC come into the game on the back of a last minute loss and on a run of 12 straight losses, the Tigers are full of confidence after a big opening round win and in a game where the margins are set to be so tight, that will likely prove the difference.
With that said, if the home side can show a reaction to last week and get Jake Connor lots of ball, they could certainly get back to winning ways in what is likely to be an entertaining match up.
