Huddersfield Giants vs Hull Kingston Rovers

The Huddersfield Giants welcome Hull Kingston Rovers to the John Smith’s Stadium for this round 7 match up from the Super League in a match that could have a massive say on things towards the foot of the table.

Both teams have found the going tough in 2019, with Hull KR starting the round in 8th whilst Huddersfield are 2nd bottom but with just the 4 points between the 2 sides, Huddersfield can kick start their season with a win in this one whilst Hull KR can create some space between themselves and the relegation picture.

It is the Giants who actually come into the game in arguably the better form after some good displays recently against the top sides but they need to build on that and pick up the win against a team they are expected to be battling with this season, whilst a win for the Robins could see them looking towards the play-offs rather than the scrap at the bottom, such are the fine margins in the Super League mid-table.

Huddersfield have won just 1 of their last 5 matches but they have looked much improved in their last 2 outings.

Hull KR have won just 1 of their last 4 but that 1 win did come in their last away game at Wakefield.

Team News

Huddersfield are down to the bare bones and name all 18 fit senior players that they have available but they still may have to dip into their academy to make a team.

Shaun Lunt is named by Hull KR for the first time this season, with the Robins also naming Robbie Mulhern.

Huddersfield have arguably played the better rugby recently but with so many injured players out, 8 at the time of writing, and with so many players not at 100%, that will likely ultimately lead to their downfall and whilst we expect a close game for the first 40-50 minutes, we expect the Robins to power home.
