Huddersfield Giants v Catalans Dragons
The Huddersfield Giants welcome the Catalans Dragons to the John Smiths Stadium for this 29th and final match from the regular Super League season in what is simply a must win game for the home side.
Huddersfield are 1 of 4 teams who go into the last round level on 20 points at the foot of the table and with at least 1 teams guaranteed a win (as Wakey face London), Huddersfield know that the only way to guarantee safety, is to pick up the win.
The good news for the out of form Giants is that they face a Catalans team in freefall and who have nothing to play for heading into this one.
Huddersfield have won 2 of their last 4 matches but just 1 of their last 5.
Catalans have won just 1 of their last 6 and they have now lost each of their last 4.
Huddersfield are without the injured Michael Lawrence, with both Tom Holmes and Sam Hewitt also dropping out. Oliver Roberts, Aaron Murphy and Matt Frawley all return.
The Dragons are without Remi Casty but Ben Garcia is back from injury whilst Arthur Mourgue could make his debut.
Catalans already know where they will finish but the Giants don’t even know which division they will be in come the end of the game so all of the pressure is on the home side heading into this one.
Thankfully for Giants fans, they face a Dragons side in freefall and despite already losing twice to the French side, we make them the favourite sin this one although we do expect an error strewn game and that should keep things tight.
