Huddersfield Giants v Castleford Tigers

The Huddersfield Giants welcome their West Yorkshire rivals, the Castleford Tigers, to the John Smiths Stadium for this round 26 match up from the 2019 Super League season in a game that will have a say on both the relegation scrap and the play-off race.

The Giants start the round in 10th place but they are just 2 points ahead of London who prop up the table heading into the round but who play a day before.

The Giants have been struggling badly as of late and come into this game lacking in confidence but with matches running out, the Giants really need to start picking up points at home.

The Tigers on the other hand start the round in 6th place but they are just 4 points behind Warrington in 2nd and despite not reaching anywhere near their peak in terms of how they are playing, they are finding ways to pick up wins.

Huddersfield have won just 2 of their last 6 matches including losses in their last 2.

Castleford have won 3 of their last 6 matches but those wins have come in their last 3 outings.

Team News

The struggling Giants make 2 changes with Matty English and Joe Wardle dropping out to be replaced by Sam Hewitt and Adam Walne.

The Tigers make 1 change with Greg Minikin replacing Chris Clarkson.

This is a hugely difficult match to predict as both teams have struggled for form and consistency recently and with the pressure high on both teams, this could be a scrappy game with the winner been the team that keeps there nerves.

It really is a flip of the coin as to who will win but whilst Huddersfield have struggled in defence and attack recently, the Tigers have at least shown some signs of life at both ends, so we are going to back the Tigers for the win.
