Challenge Cup Final 2020

Date: Saturday 17th October 2020
Leeds Rhinos
Leeds Rhinos v Salford Red Devils
Kick Off: 15:00
Venue: Wembley Stadium
TV Live on BBC 1
Salford Red Devils

As you would expect both of these 2 team come into the game in great form but all of the experience is with the rhinos.

During the Super League era, Leeds have enjoyed lots of success at Wembley and have lots of knock out rugby experience and success whilst Salford have just had the 1 outing in a final but with last seasons Grand Final loss still fresh in their memories, can the Red Devils go one better this time and pull off a huge upset at the iconic Wembley Stadium?

Team News

The Rhinos name a strong squad with Bodene Thompson missing due to been cup tied.

Leeds Rhinos Squad: Walker, T Briscoe, Hurrell, Handley, Lui, Gale, Seumanufagai, Leeming, Prior, Mellor, Martin, Dwyer, L Sutcliffe, Myler, Cuthbertson, Oledzki, Smith, L Briscoe, Donaldson, A Sutcliffe, Holroyd

Salford have been hit by Covid issues with Dan Sarginson and Jack Ormondroyd both missing out after positive tests but on the plus side is the return of Niall Evalds.

Salford Red Devils Squad: Evalds, Welham, Inu, Lolohea, Brown, Mossop, Lussick, Dudson, Lannon, Pauli, McCarthy, Ikahihifo, Burke, Yates, Atkin, Flanagan, Greenwood, Williams, Kear, Roberts, Watkins

Preview:

Leeds have all of the big game experience whilst Salford have nothing to lose in many ways after another shock major final in what looks set to be one of the closest matches in a few years.

Leeds have that extra touch of quality that will likely prove the difference but if Salford can get off to a good start and build up a lead, they have shown time and time again that they have the togetherness and determination to keep out any team, so whilst we are backing the Rhinos, we really wouldn’t be shocked by a fairy-tale Red Devils win.

Prediction: Leeds Rhinos by 6
