Catalans Dragons vs Leeds Rhinos
The Catalans Dragons take on the Leeds Rhinos is a fascinating match up from the 7 round of the 2019 Super League season and the great news for fans of both teams is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.
The Dragons were humiliated in their last home game as they loss heavily to Salford, without even scoring but they reacted well with a win at Hull KR last time out but now they have to back that up with a win against the beleaguered Leeds Rhinos.
Leeds are having a shocker of a season and find themselves rooted to the foot of the table heading into this round and with a point to prove but with 2 of the most inconsistent teams in the Super League facing off against each other this game could be anything.
Leeds know that a win will keep them in the hunt to avoid the relegation battle whilst a loss will see them well and truly off of the pace this season and looking destined to spend the whole season avoiding the scrap at the bottom whilst a win for the Dragons will see them move into the play-off picture whilst a loss could see them dragged into the scrap at the bottom- such is the fine margins in the Super League so far this season.
Catalans have won 3 and lost 2 of their last 5 outings and they have lost just 1 at home this season.
Leeds have now lost each of their last 4 matches and they have won just 1 of their last 5 on the road.
The Dragons name an 18 man squad as they await clearance for their new star recruit, Sam Kasiano. Greg Bird and Sam Moa are both out with concussion whilst Julien Benjamin is injured.
Edit: Sam Kasiano has been registered and should play.
Leeds welcome back Kallum Watkins after injury but they are missing Adam Cuthbertson. Brad Dwyer, Cameron Smith and Brad Singleton are all back after missing the Rhinos home loss to London.
This is tough match to predict as both teams are inconsistent and whilst both still have great players, they also have some players far below par for a top side.
With things on paper so evenly matched the fact that the Dragons come into this on the back of a big confidence boost whist the Rhinos come into on the back of a shock loss could and likely will prove the difference in a game where the fine margins will be were it is won and lost.
The Leeds players are simply making bad decisions in attack and defence and that will give opportunities to the Dragons. If Kasiano can get clearance, that will be another huge boost and could help the Dragons to a more comfortable win but as things stand, we are going to back the home side to grind out a narrow win.
