Castleford Tigers vs Wakefield Trinity
The Castleford Tigers take on their city rivals, Wakefield Trinity in a battle between 2 teams pushing for a top 4 finish and the great new not only for fans of both teams and for fans of rugby in general is that you can watch all of the action live online via our Super League live streaming partners.
Wakefield come into the game in great form but they are also down to the bare bones in terms of playing numbers with injury after injury to what is already one of the smallest squads in the competition.
Castleford have also had it tough in terms of injuries but they are starting to get players back in contention, although there form has suffered.
In front of what will be a packed house at the Jungle with lot’s coming from down the road looking to celebrate David Fifita’s new contract with a win, this match is all set for been one of the matches of the season.
With so much more than local bragging rights on the line in this one, it will be fascinating to watch the action.
Castleford have won just 2 of their last 5 matches but they have been much stronger in front of their own fans with 4 wins from their last 5 at home.
Wakefield have won 4 of their last 5 matches and each of their last 3 and after losing their first away game of the season, they have won there last 2 on the road.
The Tigers make 3 changes for this one with Nathan Massey returning to be joined by Will Maher and Cory Aston.
New (re) signing Mason Caton-Brown goes straight into the injury hit Wakey side to boost numbers with both Chris Annakin and Ben Reynolds recalled from loans but Wakey are without a whole raft of key players including both half backs with Miller and Brough both picking up injuries against Wigan.
At full strength this could have been one of the matches of the season and with a huge crowd expected and with so much on the line for both, this should still be a great game but with all of the change sit is one that is difficult to predict.
Whilst Wakefield have the form coming into the game, it is difficult to see how they will be able to cope with so many players missing and with so many changes to key positions going into this one. With their entire spine missing, Trinity will surly be disjointed and that should be all that the Tigers need to keep themselves out in front in what will likely be a close game.
