Castleford Tigers v Catalans Dragons
The Castleford Tigers welcome the Catalans Dragons to West Yorkshire and to the Mend-a-Hose Jungle for this round 11 match up that could have a massive say on things at both ends of the table.
The Tigers go into this round in 5th place but they have at least 1 game in hand over all of the teams above them and they are just 2 points behind Wigan in 2nd.
Despite not hitting the heights of last season, the home side have still produced some strong performances and are one of the form teams in the competition going into this game.
The Dragons on the other hand have been poor all season long and go into the game stuck to the foot of the table. Their loss last time out against Wigan, in which they dominated the opening 45 minutes but fell apart in the last 35.
On the plus side for away fans is the fact that they are just 2 points behind Widnes in 8th. A win at Castleford could be just the confidence boost they need to start to show the quality that the Dragons undoubtedly have but it is difficult to see how they can recover from last week, especially at Castleford.
The Tigers have won 4 of their last 5 matches and they have lost just 1 game at home this season but that did come in their last home to Warrington in the infamous swimming pool match.
Les Dracs have lost 4 of their last 5 matches and they haven’t won on the road for 12 months.
Castleford make 2 changes with James Clare and Matt Cook replacing Greg Eden and Junior Moors.
Les Dracs make 3 changes with Lewis Tierney, Alrix Da Costa and Lucas Albert returning in place of the experienced trio of Greg Bird, Louis Anderson and Paul Aiton.
The Tigers will be going into this game expecting the win and that is exactly what we are predicting will happen.
The Dragons are pale shadow of what they can be and with their confidence as low as it can be on the road, the Tigers will be looking to put a big win together to boost their own confidence.
