Canberra Raiders v Canterbury Bulldogs

The Canberra Raiders welcome the Canterbury Bulldogs to GIO Stadium in the Australian capital city of Canberra for this round 5 match up from the NRL in Australia in a game that you can watch live online via our NRL live streaming partners.

It’s fair to say that the opening to the NRL 2018 season has been a disappointing one for both of these 2 teams with the opening 4 games bordering on a disaster for Canberra.

The Raiders would have been expected a top 8 finish at a minimum this season but to start with 4 straight losses puts them behind the 8 ball already in that battle.

If they are to kick start their season in any game, you have to fancy their chances against a Canterbury team who are also struggling this season.

Canberra have lost each of their opening 4 matches to the 2018 season whilst Canterbury have won just 1 of their opening 4 games, with that win coming at home to the Panthers.

Team News

The axe has fallen of Josh Papali’i but he is named in reserve, Luke Bateman gets a start with Liam Knight on the bench.

Adam Tolman in injured so Adam Elliot is moved to loose forward. Kerrod Holland is on the bench with Greg Eastwood & Rhyse Martin in reserve.

With little to no form between the 2 sides this is a difficult match to predict.

Canberra simply have too much quality in their side to be sitting on no points at this stage of the season but with much of their problems down to their defence, the good news is that they come up against the Bulldogs who have struggled in attack for the past 2-3 seasons.

That could be the difference in this one as you have to expect the Raiders to simply outscore their opponents in what is likely to be a scrappy game.
