Australia v New Zealand

The Australia Kangaroos welcome the New Zealand Kiwis for the first game of the 2019 Oceania Cup international matches from the southern hemisphere and the great news for fans is that you can watch all of the action live on Sky Sports.

New Zealand have named Benji Marshall as captain as he makes his return to the international side after a return to form in the NRL but all eyes will be on newcomers including Canberra’s Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to see how they adapt to the international game.

Australia continue to be the dominant side at international level and despite losing their key players in their spine over the past 2-3 years, the conveyer belt of talent see’s yet another incredibly strong side put out on the field.

New Zealand won the last game between the 2 sides played in last October and they will be looking to take confidence from that although they lost the final of the World Cup 9s last weekend to the Kangaroos.

Overall, Australia have won 4 of their last 5 matches whilst New Zealand have won 3 of their last 5.

At the international level it is always unwise to back against the Kangaroos. New Zealand are the one team who have managed to beat them on a semi-regular basis over the last decade but they do rely on been on top off there game and on the Kangaroos having an off day.

New Zealand look to be light in the halves and they will perhaps have to rely on RTS getting into the line and acting as an extra pivot but he has struggled for form for much of 2019, so we are going to back the Kangaroos to pull away to an ultimately comfortable win.
