St George Illawarra Dragons v Canterbury Bulldogs

The Dragons have set themselves up for great chance of sealing the top 8, at least heading into the weekend and the good news for their fans is that as a later game in the round, they will know exactly what is needed if that top 8 is still there for the taking.

The Dragons start the round in 9th spot and just the 2 points behind both the Cowboys and the Sea Eagles.

For Canterbury, it is just a case of getting through this game and seeing what happens with many players expected to leave and a change in coaching looking more and more likely. Interesting there have been links between a number of Bulldog players, including James Graham and move to the Dragons.

The Dragons have won just 2 of their last 5 but those have come in their last 3 matches including a win last time out against the inform Penrith.

The Doggies ended a 4-match losing run with 2 straight wins come into this one.

Team News

Josh Dugan is back for the Dragons after he was stood down last week for disciplinary reasons which see’s Kurt Mann go back into the halves and McCrone on the bench.

Chase Stanley come sin at wing in place of the injured Brett Morris in the only change for the Doggies who do name Josh Reynolds in reserve and he could feature in what would be his last game for Canterbury.

The Dragons showed last week that when they need to win they can and that is the case once again this round. The Bulldogs are having a flat end to the season and it will be only fitting if they lose this Sydney derby and that is what we predict.

Our Prediction: St George Illawarra Dragons by 10
