Cronulla Sharks v St George Illawarra Dragons

The Cronulla Sharks meet the St George Illawarra Dragons in this Sydney derby from round 2 of the 2018 NRL and the good news for NRL is that the match can be watched live online.

Both teams impressed in week one, but the Sharks came up short against the Cowboys. They will be looking to make Shark Park a fortress once again this season whilst St George will be wanting to not only match last season great start to the season but to better it and push on for a solid finish.

St George recruited strongly over the off season and they went into the season with renewed optimism but if they are to progress and move up the table this season, this is exactly the sort of result they need.

Form

Both teams have only played the 1 game to date this season with Cronulla losing away at North Queensland whilst St George thrashed the Brisbane Broncos.

Team News

Cronulla’s Sione Katoa is injured so Aaron Gray steps into the starting line up, Paul Gallen starts at loose forward.

St George make just the 1 change with Hame Sele dropping to the bench.

Late change: The sharks have announced a late change to their positional line up with Dugan moving to fullback, Gray to centre and Valentine Holmes onto the wing.

Prediction

If St George can play with the same intensity and the same freedom in attack as last week they will push the Sharkies all the way but in front of their home fans and with the quality they have, Cronulla will be the favourites and they are for us.

Last week, Cronulla face a tough challenge up in Townsville and they will be all of the better for it. Valentine Holmes has great quality going forward from the back but his organisation was missing at times. With lot’s of preparation time for this one, he should learn from JT’s masterclass and that should make the home side that bit stronger.
