Castleford Tigers v Salford Red Devils

Castleford have been the headline story of Super League 2017 but just underneath that is the story of the Red Devils.

Not too many would have expected at the start of the season for this to be a match between the runaway league leaders and a team in 3rd place and in the semi-finals of the cup but that is where these 2 find themselves but now the challenge is to keep that great run going as we enter the most important part of the season.

Castleford have seemingly forgotten how to lose in the league and come into this one after turning around a heavy half time deficit in their derby match with Wakefield last week, the home team’s confidence couldn’t be higher which is in contrast with their opponents who faced one of their biggest losses last time out against Leeds in a match the Rhinos dominated throughout.

A champion team can turn around those types of results, as the Rhinos did after their heavy loss at Cas early in the season but for the Red Devils the task of going to The Jungle and needed a moral boosting win could be an uphill battle.

Castleford have now won their last 10 matches in the league and their last 14 in the league at the Jungle going back to August last year.

Salford’s form has dipped recently with just 2 wins from their last 6 matches although they have won 3 of their last 4 on the road.

Team News

Castleford make 3 changes for this one with Adam Milner, Jake Webster and Larne Patrick all making way. Kevin Larroyer, Tom Holmes and Jake Trueman come in.

It will be fascinating to see how Salford react to last week but even if they use that as motivation, we can only see a home win in this one. Castleford have been nothing short of dominant at home and they will want to keep that going until the end of the season.

Our Prediction: Castleford Tigers by 10
